How to reach us
Access from train stations and airports
IPhT is located 20km south-west of Paris, in a place called
Orme des Merisiers (see map). It is part of the area called
Plateau de Saclay
How to reach us by train and bus

In order to determine which is the best route to IPhT, check vianavigo. For the arrival point, fill in Orme des Merisiers, Saint-Aubin.

From Paris or the airport, take the train RER B (schedule) direction Saint-Remy-les-Chevreuse. Then, there are several possibilities:

Exit at Le Guichet (approx. 35 minutes from Paris, 1h15 from Charles-de-Gaulle) and take the pedestrian underpass at the front of the train. Turn right after the cafe and cross the street. A pedestrian way on the left (marked "Parc de Stationnement de Corbeville") leads to the bus station. Free shuttles run from the left side of the street (opposite the bus station) every 15 minutes from 8.00 am to 9.45am. They reach Orme des Merisiers 7 minutes later. Outside these hours, take the bus line 9 at the bus station. It leaves every 20-25 minutes and reaches Orme des Merisiers in approx. 15 minutes. This bus is free with a weekly or monthly pass "Navigo zone 5"; otherwise, tickets can be purchased on the bus; if you have subway tickets for Paris (ticket t) you can also use those.

Exit at Massy-Palaiseau (approx. 25 minutes from Paris, 1h05 from Charles-de-Gaulle). Walk up the stairs at the front of the train, turn left and walk down the steps on your right. Continue for 20 meters until you reach the bus stop 91.06B, 91.06C and 91.10. These bus is free with the weekly or monthly pass "Navigo zones 4-5"; otherwise, tickets can be purchased on the bus; if you have subway tickets (ticket t) for Paris you can also use those. Exit the bus at Orme des Merisiers (20 minutes from Massy-Palaiseau).

Sometimes taxis are also available in Le Guichet. They can cost around 15-20 euros. If there are no taxis in Le Guichet, you can order one by phone. Two of the larger companies you can find in the yellow pages are Taxis D'Orsay (01 69 28 82 67) and Taxis Les Ulis (01 69 07 48 88). Two warnings: we got those numbers ourselves from the yellow pages, and have no other information about these companies. Also, the driver may not speak English.

Exit the bus at Orme des Merisiers, walk back a few steps and cross the road. Enter Orme des Merisiers. and follow the road. IPhT is located in the only complex of buildings on the right side of the road (approx. 8 minutes walk from the bus stop).

How to reach us by car
Determine the best route with mappy or via Michelin. As arrival point, fill in Route de l'Orme, town Saint-Aubin, zip code 91190. Enter Orme des Merisiers. IPhT is located right of the road.

How to reach us by walking from Bures sur Yvette (La Hacquinière) or Gif sur Yvette
You can reach IPhT directly by walking from the train stations of La Hacquinière or Gif-sur-Yvette on RER B. This requires both a valid access badge to Saclay and a good knowledge of the neighborhood. But the gate beside the swivel is generally open during the business hours.
It is not a valid option on your first visit. The walk includes a steep forest path uphill, which can be very muddy, thus take good shoes. It takes about 30 minutes for an experienced hiker to reach IPhT from La Hacquinière (see map).
