Permanent Position in Theoretical Physics

The Institut de Physique Théorique at CEA Saclay (IPhT) invites applications for a permanent research position in Particle physics beyond the Standard Model at the advanced junior to senior faculty level.

Preference will be given to candidates with an outstanding research record in the domains of electroweak symmetry breaking and searches for new physics at colliders. Other topics beyond the standard model of particle physics may also be considered.

Applicants should send their curriculum vitae, publication list, a description of their research interests (preferably in PDF format) and three letters of reference to Miss Emilie Quéré (email: ipht-pp@cea.fr ). The appointment is expected to start in the autumn of 2012.

The IPhT Saclay is located in the Paris area. It hosts very active research groups in strong interaction physics, astrophysics and cosmology, string theory, and has close contacts with particle physics groups working on ATLAS/CMS and other experiments in Saclay. The institute also benefits from the presence of the astrophysics and cosmology laboratory in the physics department. The IPhT Saclay is one of the largest theoretical physics institutes in Europe covering most subjects in statistical physics, mathematical physics and particle physics and cosmology.

The deadline for application is 15 May 2012. Short listed candidates will be interviewed in June.
