In this talk I will discuss our recent work on time dependent dynamics for theories with a first order phase transition using a holographic description. I will make a brief review of our previous work on holographic phase separation which leads to a couple of questions. In particular I will analyze the collisions and merging of domains of different phases, boost invariant evolution and some conclusions for the future study of the dynamics of a confinement-deconfinement transition.
