In this talk I will start with a brief review of some phenomenological models for strong interactions based on gauge/string duality. Then I will discuss the application of these, so called AdS/QCD models, to the calculation of hadronic form factors and structure functions. I will conclude discussing a very recent work were the hard wall AdS/QCD model was used to calculate the angular distribution parameters of dileptons produced in proton proton collisions (Drell Yan process).
